ABOUT THE TEAM
The Beta Management, Equity Beta and Market Access team is part of the Total Fund Management division. This group ensures Beta delivery for PSP, with the primary aim of minimizing deviations from PSP's benchmarks. In addition, the group ensures that it maximizes the value of its assets through Beta optimization and equity financing transactions, as well as optimizing the external lending and borrowing of its securities. The incumbent will mainly contribute to the optimization of PSP's equity beta portfolio.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As an Associate, Equity Replication and Balance-Sheet Activities, you’ll:
Provide insights to Beta portfolio construction by incorporating internal and external quantitative strategies
Contribute to the strategies of Beta enhanced portfolios and balance sheet
Actively engage in diverse strategies to improve PSP's beta portfolios
Back-testing on internal and external quantitative strategies
Research and develop quantitative and systematic investment strategies
Collaborate with other PSP groups on quantitative solutions
Learn the processes of equity index management and currency hedging
Assist in projects aimed at enhancing team performance and efficiency
Support PSP’s portfolio construction team and dynamic asset allocation team
Develop market intelligence to help portfolio managers optimize their exposure
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Mathematics, or related fields; Graduate degree or MBA, an asset
Professional designation such as CFA considered an asset
Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in public equity portfolios or any other combination of relevant education and experience
Advanced knowledge of mathematics
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modelling
Good knowledge of derivatives and derivatives trading
Strong programming skills, particularly in languages such as Python
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (more specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and with financial analytical tools such as Bloomberg
Demonstrated team spirit, eager to work in a high-performance culture and willing to learn from experienced team members
Bilingualism required (fluency in French and English, spoken and written) *Frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa
