Reporting to the Senior Manager, Salesforce Solutions (Data, Analytics and Solutions), the Application Support Specialist, Salesforce Solutions supports the maintenance of the Salesforce Platform and related apps, provides advanced technical support for Salesforce enhancements, bugs and projects.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Support the maintenance and development of the Salesforce platform
- Leads development, optimization, testing and implementation of enhancements and new features for systems and processes by translating functional needs into technical requirements, documenting, and developing solutions.
- Use Salesforce tools to support fixes and enhancements, including DemandTools, DataLoader, Data Import Wizard, For Assembly and various other 3rd party apps.
- Works with business analysts, technology staff and end users to understand requirements and translate to solutions.
- Contributes to Release Management by following guidelines and process, coordinating development and testing of changes within the Salesforce environment; tracks and resolves issues through the deployment process.
- Follow best practices with regards to system maintenance, configuration, development, quality assurance, data integrity and issue root cause analysis.
Provides advanced technical and end user support
- Provides technical support to resolve issues with Salesforce, application integrations and related tools or plug-ins.
- Work directly with end users to diagnose issues, provide support and resolution.
- Liaise and coordinate with DAS teams, relevant technology team staff, stakeholders and vendors as necessary to resolve issues and maintain the platform and applications.
- Supports projects as a SME and technical resource.
- Support other Salesforce roles, including administrators, analysts and data specialists, as required.
- Uses Ticketing System to contribute to a knowledgebase for issue resolution; create and maintain design and process documentation for developed processes.
Supports Salesforce projects and initiatives, including providing technical solutions and subject matter expertise
- Acts as a subject matter expert for Salesforce and related processes, including data flows, automated processes and business processes as it relates to the develop of new solutions and processes.
- Supports the development and documentation of project and deployment plans, technical scope and requirements and timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 to 5 years of experience with Salesforce management and data management, preferably in non-profit industry.
- University Degree in computer engineering, IT or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Certified Salesforce Admin, additional certifications preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft’s System Centre Orchestrator, DemandTools, DataLoader, Salesforce Communities is an asset.
- Experience with databases and data management is required; intermediate knowledge of ETL tools and SQL is an asset.
- Experience with Apex, SOQL and APIs is an asset.
- Strong written, analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills.
- Works effectively on independent projects and within a small team environment.
