PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As the Analyst/Specialist Revenue Planning you will partner with the Marketing team to develop corporate reporting as it relates to revenue, demand, and key performance metrics across the planning horizon. This role will work closely with our internal customers to develop CPKC’s short and long term revenue and demand forecast by utilizing advanced statistical methods and business knowledge. Youl will prepare, consolidate, and report out on demand as it relates to CPKC’s daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly processes, and present relevant insight to meet stakeholder needs and build the best forecast available. The key is to develop new reports using SAP BPC or BI, work to understand variance causes and their impact on internal and external reporting, and communicate consolidated key forecast metrics for continuous improvement amongst the larger Revenue Planning team.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage relationships between finance and commercial for a portfolio of commodities aligned to a specific VP including finance input on strategic initiatives
- Partner with commercial to build achievable budgets and forecasts
- Develop and execute daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly reports that illustrate how CPKC is performing to plan against key metrics
- Collaborate cross functionally within finance and across other stakeholder groups to enable profitable, sustainable growth
- Assist in the validation and publication of internal reporting as it relates to revenues, demand, and key metrics
- Engage with the commercial team to identify market trends and demand changes to enable decision analysis
- Monitor data integrity to ensure consistent reporting
- Assist in the consolidation of revenue and key metric data for reporting purposes
- Develop automated self-serve reports for use across CPKC
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements and data maintenance to achieve business objectives that could be business and/or technical in nature
- Use time series statistical forecasting techniques to develop a base plan
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance plan with specific customer details
- Significant interaction with the business units to understand and articulate key drivers of change
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration
- 1 to 2 years post-graduation experience an asset
- Understanding of Marketing & Sales issues, company forecasting, and metrics
- Demonstrated capability to interpret a wide array of information and determine key messages
- BPC, BI and SAP experience an asset
- Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be comfortable using complex formulas and pivot tables in Excel

- Ability to clearly communicate both written and oral
- Strong organizational, time management and relationship management skills
- Able to work independently, and dig into technical anomalies to drive clarity and resolve problems
