Role Overview
We are seeking a driven, strategic leader to join our team as a Manager, Supply Chain Automation and Asset management. This role focuses on managing capital projects with high complexity, multiple stakeholders, and stringent schedules. The ideal candidate is a business-savvy project manager, technologically advanced, financially astute, and a problem solver. They will be responsible for driving the annual capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio reporting across all Supply Chain and IT portfolios. A keen eye for detail, financial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential to thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight:
Support the creation and execution of annual capital plans and budgets across all Supply Chain portfolios, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Lead and manage PMO activities, focusing on project financials, risk management, and governance for a diverse project portfolio.
Financial Management:
Spearhead budgeting, forecast management, and financial reporting for large, high-value capital projects, offering insights to Senior Management.
Generate and present monthly financial reports, assessing variances between actual costs and plans and collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to reconcile discrepancies.
Oversee portfolio health check processes, delivering comprehensive reports on scope, schedule, budget, and resource status across all in-progress and upcoming projects.
Project & Portfolio Management:
Maintain a rolling 5-year Supply Chain Automation and Asset management Roadmap, supporting the development and governance of intake and prioritization processes.
Oversee changes to resource plans across multiple projects by partnering with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain and IT.
Provide expert coaching to Supply Chain teams on budgeting, forecasting, and timekeeping best practices.
Process Improvement & Governance:
Identify and implement process improvements with the Supply Chain and Enterprise PMO to enhance capital management and governance protocols.
Lead governance and risk management efforts, utilizing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) techniques to strengthen capital management and forecasting.
Vendor & Compliance Management:
Manage financial tracking across all project phases, ensuring vendor compliance and supporting cost-efficient execution in collaboration with Non-Merch Procurement.
Program Oversight:
Support program-level oversight in coordination with the Director, focusing on the growth and sustaining portfolios.
AI and LLM Integration:
Lead initiatives to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLM) into supply chain processes, automating workflows, enhancing decision-making, and driving efficiency improvements.
What you’ve done
Experience: 10+ years of experience in project management or a similar role with a track record of delivering complex, high-value capital projects.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA and/or PMP certification is an asset.
Financial Acumen: Advanced knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost reconciliation for capital projects.
Technology Skills: Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and lead digital transformation initiatives.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills, with a focus on developing innovative, value-driven solutions.
Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to managing project financials, tracking KPIs, and ensuring data accuracy.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing and aligning cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Collaborative team players with superior influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward
Expert in advocating and advisory for business stakeholders.
Level of experience in working on different types of projects, eg. MHE, building construction, IT, etc.
