As a Financial Manager for the IB Program, you will oversee and manage all financial aspects of the IB portfolio, including forecast accuracy, project forecasts, accruals, actuals, financial tools, and policies. Reporting to the Sr. Manager Portfolio Governance, you will ensure monthly financial forecasts are accurate and meet all KPIs. You will also be responsible for improving financial KPIs and conducting extensive training for project managers. Your strong data mindset will enable you to distill complex financial scenarios and provide actionable recommendations to enhance IB PMO results. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize the IB portfolio’s performance within the Bank’s targets and drive to meet KPIs.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Support management on planning, invoicing, and forecasting financials for the entire IB Portfolio.
- Manage and review monthly accruals and actuals, ensuring they are entered accurately in the appropriate tools.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to Project Management and IB PMO management for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure all financial warnings are addressed appropriately, including managing overruns and missing forecasts.
- Develop a framework to anticipate and mitigate potential financial risks (e.g., overruns), ensuring minimal impact on budgets.
- Manage project (OP) activation by ensuring the initial forecast is accurate, and project (OP) closure by validating all open commitments are paid and closed (including all time entries).
- Mentor and develop project stakeholders to build a high-performing team by conducting training sessions for project managers to enhance their financial management skills.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for financial initiatives.
- Provide consulting on project initiatives, including business case preparation and developing creative/alternative approaches to problem resolution.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 5 -7 years of strong financial management experience with program/project budgets.
- Project coordination/management experience.
- Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation), relationship-building, and analytical skills.
- Advanced experience with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and enjoys creating presentations for executive management.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques (e.g., CA PPM, PeopleSoft, MS Projects, JIRA, Confluence).
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Nice to have: PMP certification.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
