Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Municipal Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in design of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of projects and contribute to the continued growth of the firm in the engineering and land development sector.
Responsibilities:
Site Design and Layout:
Develop detailed site plans, grading plans, and layout designs for various civil engineering projects.
Ensure designs comply with local codes, regulations, and client requirements.
AutoCAD Drafting:
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software to create accurate and detailed engineering drawings.
Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate design changes and updates.
Stormwater Management:
Contribute to stormwater management designs, including the layout of stormwater management systems and drainage infrastructure.
Utility Design:
Assist in the design of utility systems, including water distribution, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems.
Quantity Calculations:
Perform quantity take-offs and calculations to support cost estimates and project budgets.
Conduct design calculations based on engineering principles, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory codes and standards.
Construction Documentation:
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings for use in the bidding and construction phases.
Prepare technical reports detailing engineering analyses, design decisions, and project recommendations.
Project Collaboration:
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure seamless integration of civil design elements with other engineering disciplines.
Effectively communicate design information to CAD staff for drafting completion.
Client Interaction:
Engage with clients to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into the design process.
Present design concepts and solutions to clients in a clear and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 4 years of proven Civil Engineering design experience within a consulting firm
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is required.
Comprehensive understanding municipal road design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and design standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
