How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Supervises staff and oversees daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to Public Health and Ecosure standards.
- Provides direct supervision during meal services to monitor processes and resident satisfaction.
- Coordinates dietary activities with other departments to create efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain budgetary requirements.
- Prepares cyclical menu plans in line with necessary guidelines, incorporating input from clients and residents, and maintains residents' nutritional care plans.
- Performs inventory and reporting functions to the Director, Ministry, and other stakeholders. Participates in the preparation and submission of required reports.
- Manages annual fiscal budget expectations, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
- Oversees staffing functions including training, development, performance management, and discipline. Ensures appropriate staffing levels and schedules are maintained according to the collective agreement and Ministry of Health standards.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Completion of Food and Nutrition program as recognized by governing body.
- Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) required
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in food service management
- 4 years supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience managing in a unionized environment, preferably within long term care
