This session will be offered in French on September 20.\nLive Captioning will be provided by 3 Play Media Canada. \nJoin us for a dynamic and thought-provoking presentation on the intersectionality within the 2SLGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion. Our speakers will explore the ways in which different social identities intersect and impact the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals\, and share strategies for promoting intersectional inclusion and advocacy. This event is perfect for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of intersectionality and learn how to better support and uplift diverse voices within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Don’t miss out on this informative and inspiring event! \nLearning Objectives: \n\nExplain the concept of intersectionality and its relevance to the workplace experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals\nAnalyze the impact of multiple social identities on the workplace experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and identify potential challenges and barriers they may face\nDevelop strategies for promoting intersectional inclusion and advocating for the rights of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in the workplace\n\nAudience: \n\nProud and Community Partners\nDiversity\, Equity\, & Inclusion Professionals\nHuman Resource Professionals\n\nPresenters:\n[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″]Iyol Martínez (they/them)\, Leadership Programs Coordinator\, Pride at Work Canada \nIyol Martínez is a migrant settler originally from the Anauak valley\, and currently lives and works from the traditional\, ancestral and unceded territories of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem)\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish)\, səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh)\, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. They hold a Dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Gender\, Race\, Sexuality and Social Justice from Sciences-Po Paris and the University of British Columbia (UBC). Iyol has experience working in the non-profit sector\, as a Research Assistant for the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City\, and as a Program Coordinator at YouthCO HIV and Hep C Society\, where they conducted peer-led education\, as well as developed and implemented comprehensive community-health-leadership programming for queer and trans youth. Iyol is passionate about community-building\, project coordination and working towards equity\, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond. In their spare time\, they can be found painting their nails and talking with their loved ones.\n[/vc_column][/vc_row] \n[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″]Quinn Blue (he/him\, they/them)\, Programming & Engagement Coordinator\, Pride at Work Canada \nQuinn has over a decade of experience in 2SLGBTQIA+ education and programming. Quinn worked extensively in the field of Student life\, having held equity and inclusion-focused roles at the University of Ottawa\, and most recently spending 6 years at the Algonquin Students’ Association\, where they were the Wellness and Equity Centre Coordinator. His formal education is in Women and Gender Studies and in Teaching Adult Learners.
