To understand the role of anti-queer hiring discrimination in Canada’s blue-collar sector\, economist Dr. Maryam Dilmaghani (Saint Mary’s University) and queer health scholar Dr. Margaret Robinson (Dalhousie University) conducted an experiment. Creating four fictitious job candidates with welding skills\, they applied for 2000 entry-level jobs across Canada.
