What is the opportunity?
RBC is looking for a Will and Estate Advisor who will be responsible for the due diligence and review of acceptable Will and Power of Attorney/Mandate business within the region. The Advisor will assist in sourcing new Will and Power of Attorney/Mandate appointments assisting with business development and opportunity spotting.
They will also be responsible to provide a superior service experience for both new and existing clients in order to maximize retention as well as will represent Royal Trust as an estate & trust professional within the regional marketplace.
They will also develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with key internal and external partners to identify appropriate opportunities and ensure a superior Royal Trust experience in order to uphold and enhance our business profile
What will you do?
- Develop strong working relationships with key internal partners (RT, WCM, ETAs, P&CB) and external Centres of Influence in order to cultivate referral opportunities and to enhance the profile of Royal Trust
- Supports RT staff, Canadian Wealth Management (CWM) partners, Estate and Trust Advisor (ETAs) sales force and Personal & Commercial Banking (P&CB) partners with business development and opportunity spotting, including Will & Power of Attorney/Mandate acquisition activity
- Provides timely and effective client service for existing clients related to their Wills and Power of Attorney/Mandate documents
- Provides superior client service for existing clients and partners in order to ensure retention of appointments
- Assists in sourcing new Will and Power of Attorney/Mandate appointments and other new business opportunities through established relationships with Centres of Influence
- Proactively maintains and assists in growing the portfolio within the Will Bank
- Provides guidance on estate and Will planning issues, ensures that new documents meet internal policy standards and ensures that policies related to Wills are followed
- On occasion, acts as a resource for Royal Trust by providing advice on specific estate and trust legal issues
- Supports and contributes to the Region’s key business objectives/drivers
Must haves
- Advanced knowledge of Wills, estate administration, trust and related administration, tax rules and planning concepts
- Advanced knowledge of the law related to Wills, estates and trusts
- Experience in Will, estate and trust law, financial planning, trust and estate administration, and relevant taxation, environmental, family and insurance issues
- Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Computer literate
- Required: Law degree and called to the Bar in one Canadian province or territory

- Preferred: Possesses or working towards TEP designation
