Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Responsible for applying appropriate vocational and rehabilitation expertise to support the adjudication department including the effective utilization of vendors to deliver quality, cost effective and superior client service

What will you do?

• Manage a diverse caseload of Return to work focused files

• Responsible for coaching and mentoring claims adjudicators on rehabilitation practices and procedures

• Responsible for researching, planning, developing, implementing and monitoring vocational rehabilitation to facilitate risk management and return to work for disability claims 

• Responsible for completing thorough and objective assessments, for accurately documenting the information and for delivering quality, cost effective rehabilitation work product within the established service standards

• Ensure effective vendor utilization in order to maintain cost effectiveness and appropriate risk management activities

• Proactively partner with claim adjudicators, Doctors and Rehabilitation Specialists to deliver effective service solutions

What will you need to succeed?

Must have

• Post secondary education

• 5 years experience of current, proven clinical experience, in occupational health, rehabilitation or case management, industrial disability management, worker’s compensation, psychiatric, cardiac, emergency care or orthopedic nursing

• Strong analytical and decision making skills

Ability to multitask and balance multiple goals and priorities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Team work, including well developed collaborative and persuasive skills

• Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with customers in a manner that is professional with a high degree of customer service 

• Proficiency in MS Office application, PowerPoint, andor similar applications.

Nice to Have

• CVRP Designation or RRP designation

• Bilingual

Special Conditions

Please note this is a 12 month contract and the successful candidate will have the ability to work remotely out of any province.
