Adecco is currently hiring a Veneer Lead Hand for a full-time opportunity in Alberta. This role is ideal for an experienced wood veneer professional who enjoys leading teams on the floor, supporting production operations, and contributing to a growing custom millwork environment focused on high-end commercial furniture and architectural wood products.
In this position, you will act as a key operational lead between the production team and plant leadership, supporting daily veneer operations while helping maintain quality, workflow, and production efficiency. You will work closely with veneer and press teams, provide technical expertise, and support ongoing growth and succession planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Salary: Starting at $30.00/hour and up based on experience
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime and occasional Saturdays required)

Responsibilities
Support daily operations within the veneer and press production departments
Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to production teams on the floor
Assist with workflow coordination, production priorities, and operational efficiency
Support veneer processing activities and ensure high-quality workmanship standards are maintained
Work closely with plant leadership to address production bottlenecks and operational challenges
Help maintain safe, productive, and collaborative working environments
Support team communication and assist in resolving production-related issues
Contribute to succession planning and operational growth initiatives within the department
Coordinate with press operators, forklift operators, and veneer specialists to support daily production targets
Assist in maintaining quality control standards for custom commercial millwork and veneer products
Support continuous improvement initiatives as operations continue to expand
Qualifications
Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
Previous experience working with wood veneer processes in a manufacturing or millwork environment
Leadership or lead hand experience within a production or manufacturing setting
Experience in custom wood manufacturing, architectural millwork, or commercial furniture production is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of veneer materials, processes, and finishing standards
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced production environments with changing priorities
Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to support production teams under pressure
Reliable and hands-on approach to leadership and operations support
Ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shifts as required
