As an Auto Unit Claims Manager you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to a team of claims professionals. You and your team will be accountable for providing quality service, completing work processes effectively and efficiently, and continuously identifying areas of improvement.
Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact’s key business goals
Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff
Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for claims
Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems
Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
Participate in budget making; and recruitment and hiring of your team
University degree/college diploma preferred
Ongoing commitment to self-development
Minimum 2 years of experience at supervisory/managerial level
Leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff to deliver results
Strong technical skills in automobile claims – experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation
Strong communication and customer service skills
Previous claims handling experience in the automobile damage field (preferred)
Experience working in a contact centre environment and exposure to call centre systems such as Symposium would be an asset
Eligibility to work in Canada
