In this role the Truck and Trailer  Service Technicians are required to  Inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of commercial equipment and transport trucks and trailers. Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs in accordance with Home Hardware requirements and supervisor guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing methods to determine the extent of repair and maintenance.

Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems as required meeting deadlines as scheduled.

Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.

Perform and complete maintenance & mechanical services for assigned equipment including Vehicle defect reports & scheduled maintenance.

Follow Preventative Maintenance schedule and services as assigned to ensure maintenance repairs are completed and documented in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.

Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment including service attachments and working tools.

Perform duties and functions as required by Lead hand or shop supervisor, including lockout procedures and defect updates.

Follow Home Hardware communication procedures on equipment serviced for equipment work and availability and communicate equipment availability to parties directly affected by maintenance and repairs.

Skills:

M
ust possess a Class G/5 license

Computer skills and knowledge considered an asset

Completion or continuing an apprenticeship program or combination of work experience in the trade

Red Seal /
CVIP certified 

Assets considered
* Welding
* Preventative Maintenance programs
* Class 1/3 license
* Diagnostic training
