MD Financial Management has an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist – IIROC Licensing Program to join our team.

 

The Training Specialist contributes to the overall success of the Operations Training team for MD Financial Management, ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The Training Specialist will ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
  • Play an integral role in leading and guiding 90-day and 30-day regulatory training programs in all facets, to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory, Scotia and MDFM requirements
  • Collaborate with the Registration and Licensing team to coordinate the 90-day/30-day training programs for RR and IR licensing
  • Partner with subject matter experts and support teams for alignment on ongoing changes to update existing modules and training materials
  • Develop and design training programs and collateral materials using diverse audiovisual aids, training tools and resources
  • Perform various administrative duties, including scheduling classes and organizing and reporting on enrollment through the learning management system
  • Work with the Manager, Operations Training to achieve MD training strategy objectives
  • Collaborate with other business partners to deliver training for business process improvement initiatives, process modifications, resulting from legislative or regulatory requirements, and process updates for existing technology and software solutions
  • Partner with Change Management on projects to align on change strategy, effective training delivery and successful adoption
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations, with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – Bilingualism required (English and French)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and facilitation skills
  • Highly adaptable to change
  • Positive attitude & self-motivated to achieve exceptional results

 

The Must Haves:

  • Bilingual required – English & French
  • 3 years of experience providing content development and delivering learning programs
  • University or College Degree from a post-secondary institution in a relevant field
  • Advanced knowledge of Financial Services Products and IIROC rules
  • Excellent understanding of adult learning principles and instructional techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to deliver within tight deadlines
  • Completion of or enrolment in a certified training program is an asset
