You will use your expertise to:

  • Show your dedication and support the terminal operation to improve our safety culture and overall safety performance on our Journey to Zero path
  • Participate in emergency situations including fires and spills as required
  • Manage fuel material by safely and timely transfers of products via marine docks and rail loading / offloading racks, and draining and preparing equipment for maintenance
  • Control and monitor facility operations using AutoX and other monitoring programs
  • Maintain operating integrity of rail racks, additive injection systems, jet filter systems, valves, tanks and lines, pumps, buildings, docks and related equipment
  • Conduct sampling and testing as per the schedule or when required by quality issues
  • Monitor equipment conditions regularly and address any deviations in a timely manner
  • Issue or authorize work permits in accordance with our standards
  • Maintain and exchange a detailed account of the day’s activities and actions taken to mitigate risks and to ensure efficient shift transitions
  • Maintain proficiencies by reading and understanding new procedures or relevant changes to the manuals and documentation, and ensure regulatory training and certifications are up to date

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and experience working with computerized equipment
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal), problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills
  • A proven safety and continuous improvement attitude with the capability to actively participate in all safety initiatives
  • A valid B.C. driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values

Preference for:

  • Two years of experience in railcar, truck, pipeline, marine liquid product handling, instrumentation or quality management systems
  • Experience handling and testing liquid fuels as well as completion of a trade ticket
  • Completion of your Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS) and counterbalanced forklift certifications
  • Attainment and or uphold your TDG, WHMIS, standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED)
  • A post-secondary education

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Burrard Products terminal office located at 1155 Glenayre Drive, Port Moody, British Columbia
  • The shift schedule may vary and could be an eight, ten or 12-hour shift with the potential of working up to 40 hours per week based on business unit needs.  Flexibility required
  • This position is eligible for overtime
  • This position is safety sensitive and eligible for overtime
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
