The Opportunity:
The Technical Solutions Architect leads the technical effort in projects where both the problem domain and solution approach are understood. The role involves producing comprehensive technical solutions for IT business-driven or internal projects from requirements and development through to implementation. The goal is to meet all functional and non-functional requirements, drive stakeholder alignment, uncover key non-functional requirements, and realign solutions for cost efficiencies. The role also includes creating quality documentation, ensuring execution and adherence to solution design, and maintaining compliance with Symcor standards. This position supports governance efforts by ensuring adherence to technical solutions and overall Symcor standards.
This is a hybrid role with no mandatory days in office. We do expect that the candidate is available to come in for purpose-driven planned, and ad-hoc meetings such as in-person team collaborations, team events, workshops, etc. based on team needs.
About The Role:
• Define Technical Requirements: Work closely with stakeholders to understand and document technical needs, providing direction and recommendations on technology platforms. Your focus will be on aligning these recommendations with Symcor’s technology strategy, maximizing system efficiency, and preparing for downstream work and vendor engagements.
• Design and Implement Solutions: Collaborate with key stakeholders to produce detailed designs that meet Symcor’s requirements and standards while addressing business and client needs. You will identify the necessary resources and coordinate with the Project Manager to engage the appropriate technical teams for successful solution development and implementation.
• Ensure Platform Health: Proactively identify gaps in platform design and technology selection, continuously assessing the health of services, applications, and platforms. You will address and respond to any issues to ensure the reliability and functionality of technology and applications in line with business and client needs.
• Maintain Compliance and Governance: Support the Senior Staff Architect in ensuring that new technical solutions comply with Symcor’s security and policy standards, Technical Reference Architecture Models (TRAMs), and governance policies. You will recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and document lessons learned to prevent future issues.
• Document and Assure Quality: Create and maintain high-quality documentation throughout the design and implementation phases. This documentation will adhere to Symcor’s standards and support ongoing maintenance, governance activities, and overall solution quality.
• Align and Communicate with Stakeholders: Drive stakeholder alignment by clearly communicating technical solutions and their alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements. You will ensure a shared understanding and agreement among all parties, facilitating effective implementation and project success.
