Your Opportunity

Our Winnipeg office is accepting applications for the prospective opportunity of Surveyor.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain survey equipment such as total stations, survey controllers, auto-levels, and basic hand tools
  • Physical work including but not limited to locating survey pins, plugs and monuments, staking, exposing shallow utility covers and markers, clearing weeds, bush and other obstacles
  • Traffic control duties including creating basic traffic control plans, setting up traffic control devices, and acting as a traffic control person (OTM Book 7)
  • Keep field notes, sketches; making computations and calculations as required
  • Office duties include data editing and input along with basic drafting using AutoCad
  • Secondary duties include conducting field investigations, filing, and pickup and delivery of equipment or vehicles, supplies, and notices
  • Assist with monitoring Health and Safety concerns as well as notifying the Survey Crew Chief or Geomatics Team Lead of any issues immediately
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Familiar with survey equipment including: level, RTK GPS and total station
  • Previous surveying experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Autocad (version 2016 or higher) and Microsoft Office software is essential
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Valid drivers license and personal vehicle

Education and Experience

Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology program

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
