Your Opportunity

The Sub Prequalification Evaluator (Sub PQ Evaluator) works closely with Stantec's project staff and external company representatives. The Sub PQ evaluates prequalification packages as a subject-matter expert by vetting the sub’s documents, confirming with subs regarding any unique situations, and then provides feedback to project teams on potential risk and suggested mitigations according to Stantec standards. This is a full time, permanent position. This position offers the option to work from home.

Your Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of a sub’s work program in relation to local requirements, size, and work scope, using standardized evaluation tools
  • Entering data and uploading documents to internal system
  • Contribute to determining risk of working with a sub, based on given criteria
  • Keeping project teams informed of prequalification status and issues
  • Reviewing mitigations selected to reduce the identified risk per project
  • Using an online monitoring tool to track and update specific entries

Qualifications

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and French; including written and spoken composition and grammar
  • Strong research skills (internet savvy) for global requirements and determining health and safety requirements for new work scopes
  • Keen attention to detail and action tracking
  • Comfortable contacting internal and external parties in multiple media applications
  • Able to work independently and ask questions when needed
  • Open to learning new concepts and providing ideas
  • Looking to grow and develop individually and with the team
  • Strong business ethics practices
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite is required, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Preference for proficiency with Microsoft Teams, or similar communication platforms.
  • In addition to the above qualities, a successful candidate must be adaptable, eager to engage in ongoing learning, have a positive approach to problem solving and new situations, and be prepared to assist with other administrative tasks when necessary
  • HSE certification will be preferred, including but not limited to HSA, NCSO, CRST, CHSC, ASP, STS, STSC, CHST or similar, or evidenced actively working towards the same
  • HSE-specific training or working experience
  • Experience in clerical/administrative work

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 1-year of related experience
  • Minimum educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school
