Role Mandate:
Working closing with the Sr. Director and Director, the Strategist, will be supporting with development of strategic plans, delivery of key strategic programs and overall financial and initiative governance. In collaboration with the product family owners, architects, finance and project delivery, this role will be responsible for ensuring plans are well structured, inclusive of industry standard processes, financially comprehensive and enable the desired outcomes.
As Strategist, Supply Chain Systems, you will work to understand, influence, and enable projects and link to overall strategy. Ultimately, the successful candidate will define the big picture, integrate product roadmaps, and develop and enact recommendations that materialize and shape the path forward.
What You'll Do:
Build partnerships with product owners across technology to develop strategy documentation (i.e. roadmaps) and recommendations, as well as align internal and vendor strategies.
Lead and coordinate meetings, discussions, and workshop sessions internally within Loblaw Technology & Analytics and with business partners to help drive the optimization, modernization and simplifications of the application landscape.
Own the planning cycle, including the definition of overall portfolio strategies and routine monitoring and adjustment through the year.
Enable and empower leaders to make informed decisions through well-researched and structured recommendations and analysis that take on the Store & Colleague Solutions team's most challenging problems.
Support with vendor performance and negotiation strategies for our most critical vendor partnerships.
Support with innovation plans and strategy to enable business to think differently and bring in additional ways to solve gaps. Purposeful innovation and well-planned pilots will enable success.
Build positive relationship with technology leaders and business collaborators
Support with build of governance model of annual and multiyear plans and tangible measures of success to monitor progress
Provide executive level updates on annual and multiyear plans as required
Lead and support with collection and analysis of market and industry insight
Design, structure and ensure completion of analytics to allow for effective decision making and support adoption of new business strategies
Collaborate across the business to find opportunities to develop and implement improved strategies, on an ongoing basis
Support with management of overall budget
What You Bring:
You are an experienced strategy professional, consultant, or business generalist that sees themselves as dynamic, adaptable, self-starting, curious, willing to take action, and excited by ambiguity.
An ability to influence without authority and provide insights and well thought out messages that resonate with the team
Strong written and oral communications skills that showcase your ability to synthesize complexity into a concise, compelling, and cohesive story.
Strong ability with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Be confident, resilient and persistent
Nice to haves include experience with retail technology (i.e. supply chain and information technology) and/or an MBA or similar degree.
