Unit/Project Description: For Department use only. | We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Statistical Analyst I to support the research initiatives of a large orthopaedic research team. Under the direction of research faculty and managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing statistical support for a number of multi-centre clinical trials in orthopaedic trauma. Responsibilities will include developing study documents and procedures, providing guidance to study teams on issues related to data collection and maintaining data quality, conducting statistical analyses, writing manuscripts, as well as liaising with study committees, granting agencies, and stakeholders. The Statistical Analyst I will be also be responsible for ensuring that all of the above activities are conducted in accordance with study protocols, ICH-GCP guidelines, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Job Summary: | Responsible for the application of routine and moderately complex statistical and technical skills toward the collection, analysis, and translation of statistical data for a variety of research projects. Conducts statistical research and analysis and compiles and interprets statistical records and reports for a variety of research projects. Works under general supervision and uses discretion to resolve various problems and inquiries. Specific instruction is usually given and work is reviewed at frequent milestones. |
Purpose and Key Functions: |

Requirements: | Master’s degree in Statistics or related field of study. Requires 2 years of relevant experience. |
Assets: For Department use only. | Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in preparing statistical analysis plans, sample size calculations, and conducting statistical analyses for multi-centre investigator-initiated clinical trials (in SPSS and R). A sound knowledge of health research methodology and ICH-GCP guidelines is required and previous experience with REDCap Cloud is an asset. The successful candidate will also possess strong verbal communication, time management, and writing skills as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. |
Additional Information: | This position will be based at our 293 Wellington St. North location with the opportunity to work remotely occasionally subject to operational considerations. The position will require a flexible schedule to accommodate study meetings and calls outside of normal work hours. |
