As a key member of the income tax team, you will be responsible for supporting income tax compliance, reporting and audit functions. You will play an integral role in meeting the company’s regulatory requirements as well as advancing efficiencies through tax technology and transformation.
Minimum 4 years of financial and tax accounting work experience
A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA)
Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax Program preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel
Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively handle a diverse workload
Strong ability to problem solve while utilizing critical thinking and good judgment
Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions
Prepare and file corporate and partnership income tax returns, elections and other necessary filings
Assist with tax research in determining appropriate tax filing positions
Prepare tax provisions and tax disclosures for external financial statements and reporting purposes
Coordinate with business units to obtain tax reporting information for forecasting and tax compliance documentation for tax filings
Assist in the resolution of CRA audits through the preparation of responses to CRA queries
Monitor and assess changes in tax legislation and IAS 12 that may impact the company
Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to advance efficiencies through tax technology and transformation
Sponsor special projects related to tax compliance matters
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
