Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, HR Wellness & Benefits, the Sr. Specialist, Benefits will support the effective administration of HOOPP’s benefits and wellness program. This includes administering benefits in Workday, executing the benefits billing process, and liaising with Payroll and HR Operations to resolve benefits-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data accuracy and system integrity. They will demonstrate a strong sense of customer service when fielding employee inquiries and will be able to work collaboratively with team members to ensure the effective management of our employee benefits programs.
What you will do:
Administer benefits in Workday, including enrolments, corrections, coverage updates, and monitoring and resolving integration reports
Manage employee enrolments into the HOOPP pension
Perform regular reconciliations of benefits data to ensure accuracy and completeness, collaborating with HR Operations team members to resolve issues
Assist with benefits-related inquiries from employees
Execute the benefits billing process, liaising with HOOPP’s benefits vendor
Collaborate with Payroll and HR Operations team members to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related transactions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefits-related documentation and records
Monitor digital beneficiary nominations in Sun Life, including sending reminders and otherwise supporting employees
Participate in benefits-related projects and initiatives as needed
Support administration of wellness program
What you will bring:
University degree and /or Community College diploma, preferably in Human Resources and/or a combination of equivalent training, education and experience
Certification in progress in Human Resources or related field an asset
One to two years’ experience in HR with a focus on benefits administration
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented attitude, with strong organizational and time management skills
Familiarity with HR information systems, Workday experience an asset
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
