What is the opportunity?
Excellent opportunity for an individual with tax subject matter expertise and managerial experience to join the RBC Family Office Services (FOS) management team.
RBC Family Office Services is a team of highly accredited accountants, lawyers and financial planning professionals located across Canada. The team is responsible for delivering high quality customized taxation, estate and trust, business succession planning, charitable giving, and other wealth planning guidance and information.
As Senior Manager of Financial Advisory Support, a key team within RBC Family Office Services, you will be focused on leading and developing a team of highly qualified accountants and lawyers who provide technical subject matter expertise and support to RBC Wealth Management advisors to help them address their clients’ situations. The team is also responsible for providing commentary and awareness
As a manager on the FOS team, the role requires working cooperatively and effectively with the other managers to improve all parts of the FOS team. on emerging wealth planning trends and new tax legislation through articles and presentations.
What will you do?
- Lead, manage and coach a high performing team of tax, estate and financial planning professionals to deliver on overall service delivery while providing an efficient and effective experience for all business partners
- Develop annual performance goals and objectives for team in alignment with business partner and HR needs
- Prioritize and supervise the day-to-day operations across the team while continuously developing the team
- Direct strategy and supervise the production of wealth planning articles and content
- Develop and effectively present well thought out and innovative ideas for articles
- Actively participate in strategic projects with FOS and/or internal business partners across the organization as needed
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Professional accounting designation
- Minimum of 10 years in a corporate environment, ideally at least 3 of which directly managing a team
- Strong knowledge of technical tax, estate and financial planning ideas and strategies
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of employees
- Team management / ability to manage an established, technically strong, and closely knit team
- Leadership, excellent written & communication skills, employee development, relationship building
