Department, Unit or Project Description:
The Department of Athletics & Recreation is seeking caring and enthusiastic Coaches to facilitate our camp programming. Sport Fitness School is a multi-sport programs that provides children and youth ages 6-16 with opportunities in a wide range of sport and fitness related activities. The camp is designed to influence healthy, active lifestyle choices, positive social interaction and individual development through sport and play. 

Our coaches' primary responsibility is to the safety and well-being of the children under their care, working to ensure they are included and engaged in camp activities. Each day, coaches are responsible for supervising their assigned cohort and leading their groups programming and activities and empowering children and sharing life lessons throughout. 

Job Summary:
Oversee and deliver interactive activities to participants. Work is routine and in accordance with established procedures.

Accountabilities:
1.    Lead participants to and from activities. 
2.    Deliver interactive activities to participants.
3.    Ensure the physical, mental, and social safety of all participants. Report issues to Supervisor.
4.    Update and maintain documentation relating to activities.

This role may also be responsible for the following:

1.    Lead participants in an activity or sport, according to prescribed script.
2.    Assist in the set-up of daily activities or sports.

Qualifications:
Education:

• Minimum 16 years of age. 
• Current Vulnerable Sector Police check is required. 
• Possess current certifications in Standard First aid & CPR Level C by the start of employment.  

Experience: Not required.

Assets:

• Experience working with and passion for supporting the development of children are a must!
• Experience in a youth setting, sport/coaching and/or leader-in-training programs is an asset. 
• NCCP/NLS training certifications are an asset.
