If you have strong, non-authoritative leadership and collaborative skills, we want to hear from you!The scope of this role providing Process Safety expertise includes leading Consequence Analysis and Facility siting initiatives across the enterprise. You will collaborate across different levels of the organization to enable and drive change.
Minimum Requirements:
10 years of relevant experience in engineering, operations, and/or maintenance at an oil sands or refinery operation.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
Strong facility siting experience including understanding of modelling techniques, industry standards and implementation of recommendations.
Proficient in consequence analysis tools such as Phast and Safeti.
Familiarity with PSM Standards such as OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & CSA z767.
Familiarity with Facility Siting standards such as API RP 752, 753 and 756.
Knowledge and competency with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP)
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Responsibilities:
Act as Subject Matter Expert in Consequence Analysis and Facility Siting.
Support production of Facility Siting Studies for sites and projects. Ensure that they are produced in line with Company and Industry Standards.
Perform and interpret consequence analysis (using Phast and others) to drive consistent severity estimations in risk assessment.
Contribute to other Process Safety activities such as PHA / HAZOP, Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and Bow Tie Analysis.
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W., or out of our Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
This position requires travel to sites.
