PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Specialist, Financial Reporting you will support with accounting, consolidation and reporting expertise, the financial close and consolidation systems development, integration and implementation. At times this role may work directly with information systems development teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in a dynamic organization.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Liaise with Information Services and business users to assess existing system functionality, input on system/process design, and support system test and user acceptance testing for new system implementation
- Identify actions required to align and integrate systems and processes with newly acquired subsidiaries
- Reconcile differences in intercompany investment balances and propose adjustments to align multi-level consolidation balances
- Provide support to users in order to effectively and efficiently use the new processes systems implemented, including providing workshops and creating training content
- Support month end close and consolidation related activities that contribute to the reporting safety and data integration, which may include:
- Assess consolidation implications of significant financial transactions, including internal inter[1]company financing activities, test their impacts and ensure consolidation logic is maintained at all levels of consolidation
- Assist with preparation of monthly consolidation entries and troubleshoot process errors to support a timely and efficient closing process
- Support other financial reporting activities
- Ensure closing and consolidation processes being reengineered are in compliance with or support requirements of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), tax, securities regulation, and SOX
- Provide support, coordination, address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Accounting (CPA) Designation
- Knowledge of US GAAP requirements is desirable
- SAP Central Finance and/or Group reporting, desirable
- Application Expertise (desirable): BPC, Excel, Workiva, Blackline
- Process Management Skills
- Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication Skills
