The team you will be a part of
The team is working on the Nokia Policy Controller (NPC) product within the Cloud and Network Services business group. You will be part of the development team working on the next generation of our product based on the “Cloud Native” approach.
Position: Software Engineer Co-op/Intern
Duration: 4 Months
Date: January 8th to April 26th, 2024
Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Canada
What you will learn and contribute to
As a software engineering co-op/intern, you will be a part of the feature development team.
As part of the team, you will:
- Write Python code to help with CI/CD or lab setup.
- Contribute by writing components of the feature.
- Code Java unit tests for feature testing.
- Implement and run system simulator to validate feature integration functionality.
- Data modelling of network policy configurations.
Your skills and experience
Education Recommendations
Currently a candidate for a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering etc. or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.
You have :
- Proficient in at least one programming language among Java, Python, and Bash
- Basic understanding of Linux and Networking concepts
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive and results-oriented attitude
It would be nice if you also had:
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Cloud computing, Containers, and Micro-services design principles
- Experience using tools like Jira, Git, Gerrit, etc.
