The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the Fall 2026 Term.

 

Course Name/Number: Stats 3D03 - Mathematical Statistics

 

Term: Fall Term, September 8 - December 10, 2026

 

Number of Section(s) Available: 1, C02                    

 

Number of Units per Section: 3 units

 

Location: Central Campus, HH_302

 

Projected Enrollment: 100

 

Projected TA Support: TBD

 

Class Times: Tu We Fr 9:30 AM - 10:20 AM

 

Examination Period: December 11 - 23, 2026

 

Wage Rate*: As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement, the Sessional Faculty rate is $9435.73 for 3 units.

 

Course Description: Multivariate distributions; distributions related to normal inference; point estimation; sampling distributions; consistency and limiting distributions; interval estimation; hypothesis testing; single parameter maximum likelihood methods; Rao-Cramer Lower Bound and Efficiency.

 

Required Qualifications: MSc and/or PhD in Statistics or related field and classroom experience with the curriculum. Selection will be based on seniority, academic qualifications, communication skills, teaching competence, ability to perform the various duties of the Appointment, and previous academic employment experience (these criteria are not listed in order of priority).

 

*Supplemented Fees- 15.02 The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule B of the Collective Agreement.  The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.  If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
