The Indigenous Studies Department invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the 2025-2026 academic session.

Location: Virtual

 

 

 

Projected Enrollment: 35 students

Wage Rate: $8,922.68 (As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement) 

 

 

 

Schedule: Virtual on Monday(s) and Wednesday(s) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties

 

 

 

This course will study the Mohawk language, in its spoken and written forms, in the context of Iroquoian cultural traditions, values, beliefs and customs.
 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

 

Fluency in the Mohawk language is essential.

 

This course will study the Mohawk language, in its spoken and written forms, in the context of Haudenosaunee traditions, values, beliefs and customs. The candidate will preferably have a Bachelor's degree in Mohawk language or equivalent, and demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to the values of Indigenous people’s cultural traditions and spirituality.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Previous experience teaching at the university level. 

 

 

 

*Supplemented Fees- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.  The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.  If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
