How You Will Contribute:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Engineering & Learning Solutions, as a Service Security Solution Architect, you will support the delivery of network transformation and modernization via a set of services that analyze the customer’s network, identify the network solutions (Ciena and/or third party), and plan the integration/conversion requirements to meet the customer’s needs.
You will play a critical role assisting with the design, development, and integration of security best practices across the entire service portfolio and service delivery globally, including engagement in the product’s development life cycle, documenting how requirements will be satisfied, and then proceeding with synthesis, design, and system validation while considering the totality of the product’s function.
You will serve as a consultant to various Ciena teams to develop revenue (hardware and service opportunities) as well as support feature development and enhancement, test and validation procedures, and regularly guide product architects, security primes, and developers with their technology specialty and threat modeling.
You will track technology specific guidance and developments across the industry and create documentation and guidelines for product releases to be incorporated into security documentation packages.
You will support regional engineering teams on specific security project deliverables, answering specific customer questions relative to their technology.
You will enable Regions to be self-sufficient on all aspects of network security engineering guidelines, from tools to technology.
You will develop and present complex network modernization end to end solutions, ensuring proposed solutions are technically viable, while affording security leadership and technical consultation services to all Ciena field service teams.
You will perform network security audits and architecture design to enable the introduction of complete end-to-end network security.

The Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems Technology coupled with extensive experience in networking security consulting.
- Expert-level technology specific certifications where applicable - CCIE Sec, ITIL Master, S-CISO, CISSP, RHCA, CISM, CCISO, RHCE, etc.
- Prior experience participating in Security and Development Teams across multiple disciplines (Incident Response, Architecture and Engineering with advanced experience in IP protocols and networking devices/technologies.
- Experience in data analytics and working experience with BI Platforms as well as with various software development methodologies and DevOps toolchains to drive faster innovations.
- Working knowledge with Programming Languages such as Python or Java as week as Relational and NoSQL Databases.
Assets:
- Master’s degree or graduate level work in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems Technology.
