A career as a senior developer VB6 in the team of the commercial transformation team at National Bank is to act as a developer for the ecosystem for domestic payment. This job allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through your knowledge with Vb6, python and Java.

Your job

  • Help revamp the cross-sector application ecosystem for domestic payments
  • Participate in a variety of major projects

Your team

Within the domestic payments sector, you are part of a team of 45 colleagues, and you report to the senior manager. Our team stands out for its fun, and dynamic atmosphere.  We ultimately aim to offer you maximum flexibility and quality of life. This notably means a hybrid work environment, as well as adaptable working hours. Employees may be required to perform production support outside of regular business hours, on a rotating basis (variable schedule).

Our training programs use on-the-job learning to help you master your role. You can access personalized training content on such topics as banking solutions and the advisory approach to support your ongoing learning.  You’ll also have access to colleagues with a wide range of expertise, experience and backgrounds to enrich all aspects of your development

Basic requirements

  • Visual Basic 6/.NET application development, SQL Server databases
  • Python application development
  • Microservice/API development in Java using Spring Boot with JMS/IBM MQ/Kafka
  • You have an excellent grasp of concepts related to REST/APIs/microservices
  • You’re proficient with DevOps tools (GIT, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, JUnit)
  • You’ve worked in agile teams that are serious about software development best practices, such as automated testing, code review, and DevOps techniques

·       You’re an experienced developer who enjoys the challenges of technology transformations

·       You have production support experience in “you build it, you run it” mode

·       Experience with AWS

·       Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence management/documentation tools

  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will frequently interact with service providers or partners who speak a language other than French
  • Unit and functional test automation (Robot Framework, ReadyAPI, Postman)
  • Experience with PaaS (Openshift), CaaS (Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code
  • Innate curiosity about technology and passion for innovation
