We’re looking for a Senior Underwriter, Prestige to join our growing team!
As a Senior Underwriter for the Prestige division, your work will have a significant impact on our customers and broker partners. People will count on you to provide creative solutions for clients with unique needs. This position reports to the Manager, Prestige and can be based in Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Edmonton or Calgary.

You will be customer-focused in everything you do and looking for ways to improve the customer experience.
Develop and manage relationships with an assigned group of brokers to develop a lasting and profitable relationship, including broker visits.
With a strong sales ability, you will develop profitable business relationships with brokers and identify opportunities to promote Intact’s Prestige insurance products and increase sales
Attend insurance industry and marketing events, promote products and services.
You will be responsible for underwriting complex risks, making sound business decisions that contribute to profitable growth, and negotiating terms with the brokers.
Determine and control risk acceptance, risk improvement, declination of Prestige policies for Western Canada
Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel contracts following Intact’s Prestige underwriting policies/procedures, applicable laws and regulations
Review property appraisal reports and make recommendations
Participate in large loss reviews.
Identify and recommend efficiencies and/or technology changes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness.
Assist with special projects
Working closely and collaborating with other internal departments
Possible travel required
10 years of senior personal lines underwriting experience
Exposure of working on High Net Worth clientele is strong asset
Legendary sales and customer service skills with strong business acumen and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers
Ability o demonstrate adaptability to change and dynamic team environment. Act as leader within business unit and display ability to engage the team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Completion or commitment to achieve Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
Willing to travel to brokers' offices as required and in possession of a valid driver's license
