The Role
This role will provide planning and strategic support to senior executives within DBTS and to our various business partners throughout the organization. Particular focus for this role will be in the area of executive communications, metrics and reporting, and internal strategy consulting.
What will you do?
The Senior Strategy Consultant main accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, socialize, and manage digital metrics, OKRs, and KPIs that provide insights on progress towards operational and transformational technology ambitions.
Lead key strategic initiatives within Sun Life’s digital transformation programs including coordinating regular executive workshops and meetings.
Apply strategic frameworks and problem-solving techniques to complex and usually undefined business problems.
Proactively seek out and document storytelling opportunities to tell our digital narrative.
Conduct primary and secondary research to monitor and report on trends and help inform our strategies.
Experiment with different content distribution methods such as audio, video, text, illustrations, etc. to inspire action.
Identify and partner with internal subject matter experts across the global organization.
What will you need to succeed?
Five or more years of experience relevant to the accountabilities listed above.
A post-secondary or equivalent degree with a focus in one of the following: Business, Communications, Engineering, Humanities, or Technology.
Exceptional communication skills (written and oral). Writing skills include an ability to simplify complex or technical concepts into easy-to-understand plain language consumable by senior executives (e.g., C-suite, Board of Directors).
Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint skills including an understanding of the presentation process (storyboard to finished product and speaker notes).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills in the context of financial management, including the corresponding ability to visualize, interpret and report results.
Experience overseeing and producing complex reports that require significant cross-team coordination.
Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships in a large organization.
Passion for strategic writing, proofreading, and editing, as well as sharing expertise with others.
Well-developed ability to self-organize and manage competing priorities.
An interest in digital innovation and technology.
What will be nice to have?
Experience with any of the following software: Camtasia, Canva, Confluence, Jira, Miro, Vyond.
Interest or experience in the financial services industry.
Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies.
Understanding Sun Life’s brand guidelines and how to apply them.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
