Your Job

We’re looking for a Senior Specialist, to join our growing team!As a Senior Specialist, P&C and Excess Property in the Corporate Specialty Solutions team, your work will have a big impact on excess property in servicing, auditing, building guidelines and assisting in strategic product development. You will also support group insurance and non-standard property initiatives. People will count on you to provide technical guidance to ensure consistent application of corporate underwriting guidelines while achieving profitable growth objectives.This role can be based in any Intact office location. Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

Develop and support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets.
Manage product improvements and implementation.
Lead the design and development of specialty products and strategic product positioning.
Develop guidelines to support performance and underwriting.
Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact’s product offering to the competition.
Research and help implement technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting & risk
Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
Conduct governance best practices through volume analysis and performing audits.
Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products.
Provide underwriting training, lending expertise to mentor colleagues and distribution underwriters.

Your Skills

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in excess property and large property accounts and Commercial P&C insurance as a Senior Underwriter.
Strong working knowledge of catastrophe models
Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others
Ability to deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization 
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams
Effective analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills 
Ability to work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills 
High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability 
Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the Customer and Underwriters experience
CIP is a must and FCIP and/or CRM designation is asset
Bilingual in French and English an asset
Willing to travel on occasion
