Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Product Managers deliver business results by bringing high-quality products to market by defining the strategy and execution plans while continuously innovating to achieve market leadership. Product Managers are experts at market and business analysis, product definition, product roadmap, pricing, ecosystem, channel strategy, strategic planning, competitive analysis, innovation and leading cross-functional teams.
They manage the product lifecycle from inception through growth, maturity, and end of life stages and define partnership and ecosystem strategy for product execution. Product Managers maximize internal and external relationships interfacing with design, product marketing, ecosystem partners, analysts, engineering, sales and services teams to deliver a successful product with defined routes to market. They are experts in the field and are recognized as a credible voice in the market.
The Data Management Product Management team is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager for its Big Data and Analytics solutions space. As a Product Manager, you will have a global role with the responsibility to oversee the day-to-day and strategic management of a product. The successful candidate will have the drive and leadership to define and execute on product strategy, bring products to life through the entire product lifecycle. This solution is a part of IBM’s Data Management portfolio, delivering clients a solution for storing and managing their data required to accelerate analytics and AI.
Day in a life of a product manager:
Communication/Negotiation
Engaged as an independent professional. Ability to articulate and compare alternatives approaches. Negotiate with specified objectives.

Recognize problems related to project objectives. Creativity and judgment applied to professional technical, or operational problems. Independently generates solutions, based on analytical skills & business knowledge. Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes to enhance and

Provides advice in technical/operational domain of specialization. Generally controls own work priorities and methods requiring tradeoffs.

- Coordinate with development and design to define roadmap for future prioritized capabilities, tracked from inception through delivery
- Lead cross functional teams like marketing, finance and sales to define and execute a go-to-market plan
- Converse with analysts to communicate IBM leadership in market
- Represent IBM in front of clients as the knowledgeable expert in this market domain

- 5+ years in product management or enterprise data and analytics solutions

- Strong technical acumen

- 8+ years in product management or enterprise data and analytics solutions
