Job Description:
Sun Life's Group Retirement Services has over 4,500 clients with $70 Billion in assets under administration.
The Senior Pricing Analyst, will report to the Manager, Pricing & Profitability. The successful candidate will be part of a team that supports all pricing aspects of Sun Life's Group Retirement Services existing business and new business opportunities. This role also provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with solid financial, pricing or pension experience to transition into a wealth management environment. The role encompasses preparing pricing quotes for senior management’s approval using information provided by business development, pricing models and other analytical tools. The role has regular interactions with senior management and other teams in Group Retirement Services. The ability to identify relevant information for business decision making and communicating information in an effective manner to key stakeholders is a key requirement. The successful candidate will also assist with projects as required.
What will you do?
Assess the requirements, risks, competitive pressures and financial feasibility of Defined Contribution pricing cases.
Use the Pricing Model to produce pricing scenarios and alternate fee options for new and existing Defined Contribution pension plans.
Use data to determine the appropriate benchmark and recommend fees that are appropriate based on the quantitative and service level specifications of the pension plan.
Participate in discussions on the pricing strategy and assumptions with other stakeholders including: Marketing, Sales, IT, Plan Install, Investment Services, Fund Operations, Customer Relationship Executives, and Senior Management, where applicable.
Summarize analyses and recommendations clearly and concisely to obtain pricing approvals according to established Pricing Guidelines.
Propose and communicate pricing options/changes for new and existing plans to Customer Relationship Executives/Managers and Regional Directors of Business Development.
Prepare Letter of Commitment Document to be presented to clients.
Analyze the requirements and costs associated with the recordkeeping services identified in the Request For Proposal (RFP) received from Regional Directors of Business Development.
Maintain and update Pricing Model and supporting infrastructure.
What do you need to succeed?
University degree in business, Finance or Economics (Assets: CPA, CFA and/or MBA).
3-5 years of experience in Group Retirement Services or Financial Services/Insurance.
Strong analytical, mathematical, modeling, and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to think strategically, apply relevant quantitative and qualitative information, and provide alternatives.
Advanced skills in Excel, Tableau and proficiency in Word and Power Point.
Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and influencing skills.
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
