SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to work within the Credit group to analyze, identify and implement Credit cash and/or derivative strategies which will facilitate the achievement of HOOPP’s investment objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate and execute value-added programs using Credit instruments. Invest in Credit Derivatives Indices, Index Tranches, Credit Options, Portfolio trading and other structured credit investment across US, Europe, and Emerging Markets. Originating ideas to support Investment strategies and various Credit Risk Transfer transactions. Review/recommend investments in Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) tranches. Develop frameworks for pricing to generate profits from strategic risk taking. Have strong understanding of US fixed income spread products markets, specifically US corporate bond market and portfolio optimization and trading. Maintain and understand risk positions across various credit and spread products programs. Develop hedging strategies. Remain active in performance measurement, risk management, market developments and investment technology processes. Execute and assist in the execution of trades in a variety of cash and derivatives markets.
Develop and maintain relationships with team members and portfolio management groups, as well as derivative dealers in other markets. Stay abreast of legal issues and developments relating to derivatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
University education with a minimum post-graduate degree in Business, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Finance, or other quantitative discipline. MBA in Finance is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience of independently generating trade ideas, executing trades and managing a portfolio of investments.
A minimum of five years of relevant trading experience in credit derivatives, structured credit and cash markets.
An understanding of the uses of derivative securities in the management of investment portfolios.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
A detailed understanding of the use of mathematical modelling in pricing derivative securities.
Understanding of Credit and Fixed Income securities in U.S., European and Emerging Markets
COMPETENCIES
Experience in the use of electronic trading systems.
