Reporting to the Senior Managing Director (SMD) Interest Rates, the Senior Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the overall development and growth of HOOPP’s Cross Asset Thematic Investing Strategy. The individual will interact with senior leaders and collaborate with various investment teams, as well as HOOPP’s AI Lab.
What you'll do:
Identify crucial thematic investment opportunities and develop the most effective investment strategies to achieve superior returns.
Lead the design, implementation and management of the team’s growing discretionary-based systematic macro, market-neutral and RV strategy/portfolio with a view to generating strong non-correlated alpha within a defined risk budget/framework.
Develop a risk strategy to ensure a diversified portfolio construction framework across assets and geographies to optimize the new strategy/portfolio. Ensure robust utilization of our risk system, as well as various potential economic scenarios in support of rigorous risk management.
Identify and participate in thematic liquid investment opportunities using several methodologies including systematic and thematic investment tools.
Collaborate with existing internal investments teams to derive strategic value from partnerships ensuring the capital markets teams best ideas are effectively and efficiently scaled and monetized.
Providing thought leadership, in collaboration with others, on HOOPP’s evolving AI, Machine Learning and Data Science platforms.
Be a key contributor in developing/using/testing and experimenting with models through collaboration with HOOPP’s AI Lab, leading to the enhancement of risk-adjusted returns for the team, and assist with developing similar framework for other Capital Markets strategies.
Manage all stakeholder relationships.
Assist in optimizing the performance of new and existing portfolios within the HOOPP’s overall mandate.
Cultivate and help manage external relationships with similar investment organizations and banking partners.
Ensure fair and effective execution costs on all transactions.
What you'll need:
Post-graduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Accounting, or other Quantitative discipline.
MBA with a concentration in Investments or Finance is preferred.
Over 15 years of relevant investment and/or asset management experience in a senior role, managing portfolios at large or well-known financial institutions, while conducting themselves with a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
Proven success in absolute return active management strategies, including thematic investing/positioning using both discretionary and model-driven (e.g., quantitative or systematic) methodologies.
Demonstrated success in global macro directional, market-neutral, and relative value revenue generation across multiple investment time horizons.
Experience in cross-asset/multi-asset investing (such as debt, equity, credit, currency, and commodity markets) across geographies.
Collaborative player who contributes to developing and enhancing a high-performing, team-oriented culture.
Demonstrates a high degree of leadership accountability, including taking responsibility for decisions and their varying outcomes.
Proven ability of leading and developing teams, including managing relationships/interacting with professional peers, as well as mentoring and helping in the development of junior staff.
