What you’ll do
- Install, configure, and upgrade MongoDB databases on multiple platforms, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Manage MongoDB in standalone, replica set, and sharded cluster configurations.
- Perform database migrations, backups, restorations, and ensure data integrity.
- Enhance queries, indexes, and database structures to improve performance and scalability.
- Enforce database security policies, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and user roles.
- Facilitate and sustain database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for continuous optimization.
- Keep disaster recovery strategies running smoothly, including replication, sharding, and failover.
- Ensure 24/7 availability of production databases through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and other teams to meet database needs and enhance application performance.
- Document database configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
What You Bring to the Role
- Demonstrable experience with MongoDB in replica sets and sharded clusters.
- Strong capabilities in MongoDB architecture, query language (e.g., MongoDB Shell, Aggregation Framework), and tools (e.g., MongoDB Compass, Atlas).
- Comprehensive expertise of database backup, recovery, performance tuning, and resolution.
- Proficient in database security, including user authentication, role-based access, and data encryption.
- Proven expertise with scaling and optimizing large MongoDB environments for high availability performance.
- Well-versed in disaster recovery planning and implementation, including replication and failover strategies.
- Solid grasp of data modeling, indexing, and query optimization for performance improvements.
- Proficient in handling tools and techniques for running production databases.
- MongoDB certification (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA) is an added bonus.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and detail technical procedures efficiently.
