Job Description:

This 13-months fixed term contract is an exciting opportunity for a creative marketing and communications professional who is passionate about transforming the group benefits business.

The main responsibility of the bilingual Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist is to write clear, concise communications on a variety of content related to group benefits. This role will also provide marketing and communications consulting support, including the project management of marketing communication initiatives targeting Group Benefits client-facing staff, plan sponsors, plan members, plan advisors, and consultants.

We're looking for an individual with a strong background in writing, who is passionate about transforming the group benefits business to support the health of Canadians.

What will you do?

• Write and edit communications and marketing materials and customized plan-specific communications for members of group benefits plans.

• Create and activate marketing and communications plans, including project management.

• Measure the success of marketing campaigns and ensure target penetration and utilization rates are reached.

• Work with designers, translation, and external agencies as appropriate.

• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills are required

• Passion for marketing and communications

• Creative, customer focused, and results-oriented

• Strong project, time management and organizational skills – ability to manage multiple priorities for multiple internal/external clients.

• Ability to work within tight deadlines and under pressure.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Not afraid to challenge the status quo

• Self-motivated​

• Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, journalism or an equivalent program

• Experience within group benefits, financial services or related industry

• Understanding of communications measurement – benchmarking key results

• Business to business marketing experience

• As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
