The Senior Manager, Treasury Operations is responsible for overseeing 200+ bank accounts across multiple legal entities and 30+ currencies that are currently required to support various investment strategies within the plan. They will supervise and lead a dynamic team to support and oversee all cash management and reporting functions, mentor and develop talent, and support the Director in executing strategic and tactical projects. The Senior Manager will also be responsible to continuously evaluate, recommend, and execute in areas to optimize controls and efficiencies within the Treasury Operations team.
Who you'll work with
The Senior Manager will report to the Director, Global Market & Data Operations in Finance Operations.
What you'll do
Oversees the daily and month end cash operations including multi-currency payments, bank reconciliations, forecasting, and liquidity management reporting across our public and private asset classes.
Ensure short term cash projections are accurately forecasted and communicated timely to the various Investment teams with the goal to minimize daily cash balances.
Support internal departments with new product launches, bank account openings, funding requirements, and general inquiries as it relates to currency management
Develops key financial and operational controls and ensures an appropriate control structure is in place with up-to-date policies and procedures
Attract and develop talent to maximize employee’s potential and fosters a highly engaged culture within the team.
Evaluate and manage external providers (Custodians, Banks) to ensure excellent service is delivered to the fund.
Initiates and encourages continuous process improvements & automations within the team across all cash management functions, while reducing complexities and risk for Financial Operations
Oversees / participates in key projects within and across departments, evaluate operational impacts and risks, and recommend course of action to ensure operational readiness
Remain current with new and emerging industry best practices related to Treasury Operations and ensure compliance with SWIFT and market regulatory requirements
Develop and incorporate key metrics which will promote accountability, efficiency and accuracy of information into daily operations.

Recruit, develop, and engage a seasoned team of strong front line operations managers and staff.
Evaluate and develop members of the team(s) to ensure they have the appropriate skills and capabilities to succeed in their responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders
Demonstrate Teachers’ values consistently in interactions across all levels of the organization
Drive efficiency in execution across the full range of operations’ services
Provide leadership and management oversight to team
Stay current on the strategic direction of Teachers’ to determine how best to align resources to support their strategies
What you'll need
8+ years of related professional experience in investment operations; ideally within public markets
Experience leading and developing a team (or teams) and mentoring people leaders with their own direct reports
Deep understanding of cash operations (payments, SWIFT standards, reconciliations), forecasting and liquidity reporting
Successful track record for project planning and management and has been a key driver in implementing change across operational teams
Relevant university degree
CTP, CFA, or MBA
Strong overall people management skills with the ability to support, train, mentor, coach in all areas of investment operations
Strong organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines, thinks both strategically and tactically
Proactive and dedicated customer service focus
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of management and staff; team builder
Consistent demonstration of professional, positive and approachable attitude
