In this role, you will :
Responsibility 1: Strategy and Relationship Management
- Under the guidance of the VP RRR and in collaboration with geographic and national teams, manages the successful implementation of social emergency service line at the National and geography levels.
- Leads internal stakeholder communication and engagement in the area of program design, development and evaluation. Provides input to initial and ongoing change management strategy.
- Facilitates the adaptation and implementation of resources/activities in alignment with the strategy and framework of Social Emergency at a national level.
Responsibility 2: Community Engagement supporting Response
- Coordinates the implementation of the process for development of a program and response framework for crisis response to social emergencies in Indigenous communities.
- Monitors the CRC’s approach to crisis and social emergency response to better ensure alignment to Indigenous priorities, is culturally sensitive, responsive to emerging requirements and best-practice, and aligned with our commitment to reconciliation.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of supportive standards, tools, processes, and workflows in Indigenous response (disasters and crisis).
Responsibility 3: Workforce Planning, Standards
- Identify, and recommend adjustments to service standards, methods, and processes to continuously improve and respond to current and future needs at National and geography level.
- Communicate and influence work methods, processes, service delivery, and change amongst team and with stakeholders within own department and other departments/service lines.
- Participate and inform the workforce planning, resolves conflict and provide coaching and feedback to geographies.
Responsibility 4: Program Management, Reporting and Analysis
- Manages program planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with National strategies and goals.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact and effectiveness, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, and use findings for program improvement and learning.
- Prepare program reports, funding proposals, and other program-related materials, ensuring compliance with requirements and organizational guidelines.
Responsibility 5: People Management
- Provide people management in the development of career development plans for assigned employees.
- Strengthen personnel recruitment and onboarding processes and structures and monitoring against standards.
What we are looking for :
- University degree in a relevant discipline (business administration, management) from a recognized academic institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5-6 years working in program management, administration management, community development, psychology or similar.
- Experience in working on programs with Indigenous Peoples with specific focus on resilience building related to response efforts in support of trauma, crises, and emergencies; Indigenous cultural awareness and engagement experience; Strong working knowledge of Indigenous networks and organizations.
- Knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the. Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
- Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to problem solve complex issues by identifying root causes of problems, analyze, consider risks, collect and interpret data.
- Ability to communicate, negotiate and influence internal and external clients.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English is essential. Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered a strong asset.
- Strategic thinking skills to recognize how specific actions and messages will impact different stakeholders.
Working conditions :
- Will be working primarily in an office or project-based environment with the possibility of a partially virtual/hybrid (combination of in-person and remote) working arrangement.
- Regular exposure to computer screens and keyboards while sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work to meet project deadlines, support meetings/events or to meet an operational need.
- May require occasional travel to attend meetings/conferences and/or support operational needs and/or an emergency response.
- May be deployed for 6 – 10 days into a remote community.
