Misión:

Leads the strategic development and management of partnerships with rails (Card Associations) and non-network payment providers (ACH, digital wallets, blockchain-based platforms, and other fintech solutions).

This role ensures seamless alignment across value proposition design, commercial strategy, and operational processes, driving scalable growth, innovation and financial performance.

 

Reporting to the Head/Director Payments, this role drives revenue growth and optimizes payment ecosystems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in payment systems, card network operations, and fintech partnerships, with a proven track record in strategic leadership.

 

¿Qué esperamos de ti?

 

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • University degree with strong working knowledge of payments, digital wallets and new payments trends beyond cards.
  • Demonstrated multitasking abilities in a team-based environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and proficiency in tools like Excel, CRM systems and payment analytics platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of global payment regulations, card network operations, and emerging fintech
  • Excellent presentation, writing and negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to work independently to accomplish tasks are essential.
  • Experience with Banking, Fintechs or the Financial Industry is an asset.

 

 

¿A qué retos te enfrentarás?

 

  • Lead and responsible for executing long-term Regional and Local strategies and tactics for Manufacturing, Processor and Card Network (as needed) partners, aligning with business objectives.

 

  • Identify, evaluate and execute opportunities across wallets, remittances, A2A payments and emerging payment infrastructures

 

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to co-create innovative payment solutions that meet customer needs and drive adoption

 

  • Oversee development and execution of commercial frameworks and financial models and lead the development of dashboards KPIs and performance reports to monitor adoption efficiency and risk

 

  • Oversee team performance while fostering collaboration with sales, compliance, risk, technology and product teams to integrate payment solutions seamlessly.

 

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

  • Provide subject-matter expertise on emerging payment trends and ensure alignment with Scotiabank’s strategic objectives.

 

  • Mentor and guide Managers and Analysts on the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, customer focus, and results.
