Role Overview
Reporting to the Director, Pharmacy Operations Strategy and Optimization, the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Operations Programs and Professional Development is responsible for supporting the implementation of Pharmacy Operations projects that will help with promoting operational excellence and pharmacy operations best practices across the enterprise. This role will also lead the ongoing optimization and development of Continuing Education for Pharmacy Professionals, allowing for successful training and execution of new pharmacy initiatives. This role is a significant liaison between Central Office departments, store teams and external stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations
- Required to manage and assist in the delivery of pharmacy related initiatives that drive pharmacy performance
- Takes a leadership role in the research, recommendations, implementation, and sustainment of store level pharmacy operations. Looks for opportunities for continuous improvement to optimize in-store pharmacy processes to improve performance, efficiencies & productivity.
- Collaborate with Central Office stakeholders to ensure operational excellence is adhered to, with the introduction of new and updated initiatives that meet pharmacy practice standards
- Act as a liaison with other departments representing national pharmacy operations innovation, ensuring that performance metrics and expectations are adhered to, results are effectively communicated
- Support Pharmacy Operations Specialists and District managers, along with providing training and coaching on new and existing pharmacy initiatives to support successful implementation and rollout.
- Other projects and duties, as identified and assigned
Professional Development
- Responsible for the development of Continuing Education modules, to continue to drive pharmacy development in an evolving clinical pharmacy practice environment
- Track, measure and report on uptake of all Professional Development programs
- Manage Professional Development budget, and prepare business cases for opportunity areas for further education tools
- Manage and enhance relationships and affiliation agreements with various universities, colleges, and Faculty of Pharmacies across the country
What You'll Need
Skills
- University degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance or Marketing; MBA or equivalent Master degree is an asset. Education in a Healthcare field is an asset but not required.
- 5-8 years of relevant Healthcare, Pharmacy, Consulting, or Education experience. Experience in pharmacy is preferred
- Proven capacity to drive results without authority and ability to build collaborative relationships cross-functionally; actively engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, experienced at establishing relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interpret and present results (both written and verbal) in an engaging, meaningful way for internal users
- A creative thinker who is comfortable working with ambiguity, ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and work in a fast paced environment
- Exceptional project and change management skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and training skills, combined with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, are essential
- Extremely Proficient in the use of Power Point, Excel, Word
- Fluency in both official languages is an asset
