What will your typical day look like?
As Senior Manager, Internal Audit, you will manage a team of consultants and senior consultants, leading them while they deliver projects. Working directly with our clients, you will oversee all areas project delivery. This includes:
Drafting proposals and participating in business development efforts;
Interacting with a network of seasoned internal audit practitioners with the internal audit community;
Facilitating client workshops on the audit subject matter area;
Providing advice and guidance on matters of risk management, internal control, governance, and the relevant audit areas;
Assessing the entity-level and internal control environments;
Assist with interviewing stakeholders, preparing and reviewing working papers;
Analyzing and diagnosing client business issues to develop and recommend solutions to observations; and,
Using a structured approach to project management to ensure client value and satisfaction.
About the team
Our Internal Audit team in Edmonton is the largest in the city - the largest team of internal audit and IT internal audit professionals. This means you will benefit from an established client base, trained team members, and a diverse group of resources to draw on for your projects. This also means that our clients will be able to benefit from a broad pool of local and national team members as well as Subject Matter Advisors to support their needs.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone who has:
10 to 15 years of managerial or related experience in an internal audit function or professional service firm
Experience including ICFR, IT Controls, Risk Assessment, Internal Audit, Operational Audits, and annual Internal Audit planning
Certified Internal Audit designation is preferred (mandatory to obtain if not in hand) while an accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is a nice to have
Knowledge of Public Sector including five or more years of Public Sector experience is a must
Strong knowledge of IT systems and IT controls is an asset including a CISA or CISSP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to work with teams using shared values as well as recognizing others for their contributions and work
Experience with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, and team leadership
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PPT
Canadian travel may be required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $191,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
