Your job
• Provide legal advice and intervene in complex strategic matters (Canadian and international) that have a significant impact on the activities and operations of the Wealth Management and Financial Markets business lines.
• Manage litigation and regulatory investigations, particularly in the area of securities, in collaboration with other team members, business partners and stakeholders.
• Provide support and advice on a wide range of legal and strategic matters to management and business lines by assessing and identifying their needs and proposing tailored solutions.
• Interact and manage external legal counsels and ensure an overall completeness and consistency of strategies.
• Collaborate and interact with various regulatory authorities, such as the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, Canadian securities commissions and the Montreal Exchange.

Within the NBF Legal Affairs sector, you are part of a team of more than 30 colleagues, and you report to Vice-President, Litigation and Regulatory Investigations, NBF Legal Affairs, Financial Markets and Wealth Management.

Basic requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in law and member of the Barreau du Québec
• Between 5 and 8 years of relevant experience, including in civil/commercial litigation
• Autonomy, enthusiasm, integrity and adaptability
• Willingness to learn, sense of initiative, meticulousness and diligence
• Excellent analytical skills and judgment
• Collaborative team spirit
• Efficient time and priority management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience or knowledge in the following fields is an asset: securities litigation, regulatory compliance, professional liability, financial markets, Common Law.
