A career as a senior trading assistant or senior trading assistant in the Capital Markets team at National Bank means acting as a key operational partner supporting fixed income traders in their day‑to‑day activities.
This role allows you to make a tangible impact on trading operations through your attention to detail, understanding of market processes, and ability to support a fast‑paced environment.

You are looking for a role where no two days are the same, where learning happens continuously, and where your contribution directly supports business performance. This position offers exactly that.

Your role

• Validate trading positions and manage inventory on trading platforms to support daily market activities.
• Support traders during new municipal bond issuances by coordinating required information and follow‑ups.
• Collaborate with Capital Markets Operations to ensure accurate and timely transaction settlement.
• Maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal partners.
• Contribute to team projects and ad‑hoc initiatives in collaboration with sector colleagues.
• Identify operational issues, analyze root causes, and recommend improvements to existing tools and processes.

Your team

Within the Capital Markets sector, you are part of a dedicated team supporting a significant client base. You report to the team manager. We aim to offer you maximum flexibility to support your quality of life, including a hybrid work environment and a flexible schedule.

Requirements

• Proficiency with office and collaboration tools in a professional environment.
• Understanding of trading operations and transaction flows, or the ability to quickly develop this expertise.
• Comfort working with data validation and position reconciliation on market platforms.
• Ability to analyze discrepancies and propose practical process improvements.
• Strong interest in financial markets, particularly fixed income products and municipal issuances.
• Knowledge of market data systems such as Bloomberg is an asset.
