About This Opportunity
In this role, you will oversee the financial activities and analysis for our retail sales customers (Large and Small Stores), including the creation of customer P&L, product profitability analysis and pricing/trade spend (CMA) review. You will also be a key business partner with the Revenue Growth Management (RGM) team in driving topline revenue growth while improving customer profitability and be an integral part of the customer trade board process in validating & reviewing customer programs and trade investment proposals. Additionally, you will own the integrity of the customer P&L and will ensure the proper financial inputs (e.g. COGS and Cost to Serve) are being applied with assumptions factored in being financially sound. You will also provide financial business counsel to our Sales and RGM teams, which involves providing insights and analytical support, championing process improvement initiatives, problem identification and resolution, and influencing and driving change.
Responsibilities
• Provide financial support and analysis on customer business propositions and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct customer and product profitability analysis and return on investment assessment.
• Track and ensure brand partner funding is properly accounted for and invoiced.
• Review customer Pricing / CMA agreements to ensure they are in line with business plan guardrails.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2 years’ related experience
• Critical thinking and ability to influence and steward conversation with facts.
• Comfortable speaking up in formal/informal meeting settings.
• Ability to communicate complex financial metrics into easy-to-follow business logic for a non-finance audience.
• Excellent financial modeling and Excel skills.
• Ability to establish sound assumptions using proper benchmarking and business logic.
• Demonstrated ability to perform analyses that require the application of single or multiple financial and non-financial concepts and tools (e.g. NPV, IRR, Discounted Cash Flow, loss projection) as well as exposure and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of international, Canadian or local GAAP. This includes the ability to apply these principles and determine compliance with the principles.
• Professional accounting certification (CPA) or in active pursuit of designation is an asset.
• Former experience in supporting business negotiation is an asset.
