Why this role is important?
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare & review financial reports for franchise stores
- Prepare financial statement for franchise owners after wind-up process
- Review Financial Statements for banner segment (including Franchisee & Franchisor) Active involvement with period end close activities including JE preparations, reconciliations & in-depth analysis.
- Take a lead role in ensuring that department objectives and initiatives are completed.
- Preparing and reviewing reconciliations and providing recommendations
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries and providing recommendations
- Process all accounting transactions for store opening, closure, and wind-up
- Continuously monitor, recommend, and implement process improvement initiatives to increases effectiveness and productivity of department
- Convert and maintain journal entries during the SAP transition
- Training Franchise stores
- Written and verbal communication with the franchise stores
- Dealing with external accountants, government audits and surveys
The candidates must possess the following skills:
- A minimum of 6 years of previous applicable industry experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Currently enrolled in an accounting designation program would be considered an asset
- Strong English and communication both oral and written
- Ability to converse comfortably with business partners
- Intermediate experience with spreadsheet applications, word documents and email (office suite)
- Ability to implement required process improvement or transitioning new work.
- Professional attitude (business attire, communication with colleagues, positive attitude) professional demeanor
- Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Se charger des comptables externes, des vérifications gouvernementales et des sondages.
Les candidats doivent posséder les compétences suivantes :
- Au moins 6 ans d’expérience antérieure pertinente dans l’industrie, ou éventuellement une combinaison d’études et d’expérience;
- Actuellement inscrit(e) à un programme de titres comptables, un atout.
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication orale et écrite en français et en anglais.
- Capacité à converser aisément avec les partenaires d’affaires.
- Expérience intermédiaire des applications de tableur, des documents Word et de courriel (suite Office).
- Capacité à mettre en œuvre l’amélioration requise des processus ou à transférer de nouveaux travaux.
- Attitude professionnelle (tenue d’affaires, communication avec les collègues, attitude positive)
- Solides compétences en organisation et en gestion du temps, souci du détail et engagement envers l’excellence.
- Capacité démontrée à travailler seul(e) ou en équipe.
- Solides compétences analytiques et en résolution de problèmes.
